We are a friendly group who are always willing to answer questions. However, it sometimes helps to understand a little better what is going on around you at our meetings.

Door hostesses greet you on entry and ask you to:

Sign up for your choice of hot drink at supper time 30p - buy raffle tickets if you wish, 50p a ticket

Buy a smiley face for a few coppers- these are used to  vote in our competition (explained later) - proceeds go to the ACWW -         Action for Country Women of the World, an organisation that enables real-life changes for women in rural communities around         the world.)

Also at the door is our suggestions box where we welcome suggestions and comments.  This means that everyone can have a say in how things are run.

Our meetings start with ‘Jerusalem’, followed by the usual business part of running any group.  This includes forthcoming events.

For the main part of the evening we usually engage a speaker and we cover a wide variety of topics/ activities.  (Any suggestions here are very welcome, as well as ideas for future activities.)  After the speaker, we have tea or coffee and a biscuit.  These are supplied by nominated hostesses, who will usually be asked to do this once a year.  (Hostesses are also responsible for setting out tables and chairs before the meeting).  During this time members vote for their favourite entry in the competition, the subject of which is given well in advance and members try to think of an imaginative interpretation.  As well as a weekly winner, there is an annual award for the member who has gained the most points over the year.  Points are awarded for the top two entries voted for, and also every entry receives one point.

Members can also sign up for the many other activities we organise which have included indoor kurling, climbing the O2, Segway Experience, wine tasting evening, annual quiz night, playing croquet or bat & trap, lunch in a local restaurant, learning to play cribbage……………

Finally, the raffle is drawn.

Not sure if this is for you?  You are welcome to come as a guest for up to three meetings to find out !
